So DD is now 6 months and am wondering if it's time to broaden her horizons and partake in baby splash. What exactly do they do? Live in the Springs and know the Hayya clubs do classes in the morning but DD sleeps till 11am so wonder if anyone knows of any classes at lunch time or in the afternoons?

We do baby splash at the Hayaa club in Meadows. Normally the beginners class is around 10am although I know next term they are changing times slightly but we havent had this confirmed in writing yet. Classes have about 12 in each although they normally have about 8 babies in due to people's absences /babies being ill etc... The tutor is very nice and its focussed alot about dipping babies under water and equipping them with swim saving skills (to be able to swim under water / reach to the side / climb out of pool / grab onto things etc) - Often the babies get distressed as they have runny noses / teething probs etc so you cant do the dipping... Many of the people who attend this with me are a bit fearful of the whole dipping their babies procedure, as it is a bit daunting initially. We are in our 2nd term of this and I have to be honest, I have 5 friends that do Baby Splash and 4 that attend Ladies Club.. I understand the classes are alot more progressive / enjoyable at Ladies Club - maybe go along and view each one first to decide yourself?

Anyone know of any classes closer to Mirdif? I took DS 1 to swimming with Active Sports at Wafi but wasn't overly impressed, so thinking of trying someone new for DS 2. Thanks Al Reesh club in Festival city used to do them last year when i lived there. I'm not sure if they are active sport or not though. The venue is nicer than the Wafi from what I've heard. edited by chance on 14/03/2011

It is 510 for 6 classes. They are very small classes where I go (max 3 children) and we really enjoy it! Natalie is wonderful. I know it also depends on the venue in regards to the size but It is at my daughters nursery so I do it with both my 3 and 1 year old

Thanks for replying. Hmm how difficult is it with 2 kids in the water? Will that even work? Probably need to leave one at home with DH.

Baby Splash is great, the kids love being in the water but there are lots of other activities you could choose if it doesn't fit in your routine. or Farasha, sounds like something my DD (3 years old) would enjoy. What are the prices like? Do I have to get in the water with her? I have a DS (1 year old) can he also go in?

Hi Pentel, i use the baby whisperer book and stick to the eat, activity sleep routine all day so: 7am Wake up, eat, play 8.30am,sleep 11am wake up, eat, play 12.30/1pm sleep 3pm wake up, eat, play 4.30/5pm sleep 6pm wake up, eat, bath, 7pm bed. Thats why am looking for classes around lunchtime as can extend her awake then as long as she gets her first sleep. Thanks Shjbelle will give them a call. ok, so she actually wakes up at 7am not 11.30!! although 2 and a half hours for the first nap is still impressive!

We've been going to Baby splash at the ladies club since DD was 5 months old and she LOVES it! She's now 2.5yrs old and in toddler splash. The beginning is very much playing and having fun in the water, getting them used to being in the pool, getting their face wet, going under water etc. As they get older the focus is more on technique and DD is nearly swimming alone. from what i remember most of the classes are around 10 - 11am... we do the 11am class and we're the last of the morning
