Hi there, just wanted to know if anyone knew of nutritional supplements or multivitamins that could be administered to babies who don't much milk? Currently she's on Pediavit select which includes vitamins A, D3, C, B1, B2, B6, B12, E, Folic Acid and Iron. She also gets a tablespoon of Flaxseed oil for Omega 3/6, but if I could find a supplement that includes also pantothenic acids, DHA and select minerals, that would be great. Calcium not an issue as she eats lots of yoghurt.

There are some studies that show that infants are more accepting of new tastes if they are initially paired with something sweet, so mix some peach in with the peas/lamb initially etc if need be. (all about positive reinforcement again) Try the custard, sweetened with banana or other fruit, goes down well in our house. The gagging is normal of course, but its important not to react in a way that makes it seem scarier, so keep smiling and pause quietly while she rights herself rather than a "poor baby" face if you can manage. Formula/BM yoghurt would be better but so long as she is having the multivitamins on the side all good. I did read that as well as iron, a lot of the good stuff in berries is better absorbed if not paired with dairy so maybe some fruit purees on their own? Great news that the aversion is only for liquids though, :) :) once she is older and can control the flow herself she will hopefully get past it too. Are you in Singapore now?

I make them into a paste and put them in smoothies, cereal, etc.

Thanks Kiwi. Solids are going well as long as its fruit/yoghurt. She isn't taking a liking to veggies, but that should be expected. She still has what I guess is a liquid aversion. If it's too fluid, she won't take it, but loves yoghurt and fruit from a spoon. Last night DH gave her some buttered toast, and she really seemed to enjoy that, until she started gagging, but I suppose that is all part of the process. Thanks for the tips. I've already tried formula yoghurt and you can't make that. Will try EBM yoghurt today and see how it goes.

I can't help with the vitamins but just wondering, maybe you could try making yogurt or custard out of breastmilk/formula if she would eat it that way, so pleased to hear solids are going well! (the custard could be made with the DHA egg yolks if you are giving eggs yet)
