hmmmm I dont know what to do ladies!! My girls are almost 3 now and they've never been good eaters. They love their milk exceedingly. I try all day to feed them different things and lately they've been turning it all down and asking for milk. I think now is the time to cut their milk (they still have it from the bottle - so at least to switch to a cup and throw the bottles out) - but i'm really dreading it as I know it's going to be a big drama. The other problem I have is that since they were young I've been putting them to bed with a bottle which helps them fall asleep - bad I know, dont flame me, please! Now two problems have arisen from this - one, their teeth, I know it's terrible for their teeth and the other thing is they're waking up at least once in the night wanting more!! Probably also because they're not full enough from refusing food all day :-(.

How am I going to tackle this? Not looking fwd to it, I can tell you!

I know with my nephews they took the night bottle away in a gradual process, giving it further and further away from bedtime over a period of weeks. You can also gradually add more and more water to the milk, so that it is eventually all water. They should be old enough for star chart rewards etc now too.

i had a similar situation with my DD... but she's a great believer in Santa and I psyched her up saying when Santa comes he's gonna take all her bottles and give her a brand new Dora mug! I didnt think it would be easy... but she willingly took all her bottles to santa... sat on his lap... told him exactly what she wanted... then left with a brand new Dora mug... and we've never looked at a bottle since... :) she still does go through four glasses of milk a day... but always from her cup or a tetrapak... i was tempted to hold on to at least one bottle just in case she cried all of christmas eve (once we returned from the late night party)... but i knew if I held on to one, I'd be tempted to give it to her the minute she cried! :) hence we boxed and gave santa every bottle, ever teat and even the bottle brush! :) all the best with ur girls!

since they r already 3 they must understand when u talk to them so sit them down and tell them that a new baby needs the bottle now but they get to have new cups or new sippy cups, i out mine down with a sippy cup full of milk. you can go together to the shop and tell them that they get to pick their own sippy cup which im sure they would love. than in day time try no milk, tell them they will get milk only after they finish food. or they get to play or watch tv only after they finish their food. try to make only the foods they like most and than slowly introduce other foods back in to their menu. try explaining that big girls need food to grow even bigger and be beautiful. make them feel like food will improve everything that way they might eat at least a little bit and slowly slowly u can say ok one last bite for daddy, one last bite for mommy, one last bite for ur sister. hope it helps. also in the night instead of another bottle of milk why not keep a bottle of water ready,

no practical suggestions, but this book might be a starting point? http://www.amazon.co.uk/More-Bottles-Bunny-Board-Book/dp/1906250197
