True. He doesn't have a lot of patience to discuss all the details, but he is pretty confident with his experience and innovative approaches you just need to trust him. When we asked if abstinence would affect the results of the sperm test, he said it didn't matter because he said he would be inserting the sperm into the egg regardless of motility or whatever. The only thing he needed to know was if there was any sperm - dead or alive! LOL. From everything we heard about him, we just went ahead and we are now blessed with a beautiful boy. By the way, he is not the only doctor in the clinic, so if you have a zillion questions, you better take an appointment with Dr. Amal Al Shunnar who works there. She is extremely thorough. My friend had seen her when Dr. Fakih wasn't there, and was quite impressed.

Nicky, interesting on your take with Dr Fakih. For me I found there was no information at all and I ended up scheduling to see another doctor to get the tests done before proceeding with IVF. I felt that the tests would determine the type of IVf required. I am a high risk case with insulin and thyroid history and no tests on those were done, and no AMH test to check my ovarian reserves either. My husband was told to do a sperm test which came back with slow swimmers because he had had more than a week of abstinence, and when redoing the test with a 3 day abstinence it came back normal! Fakih could have simply told us to come for a sample when he had a 3-5 day sample available. It was the new doctor who explained all of this and redid the test. Im sure he has all the fancy equipment etc but surely more communication and tests before asking for 28 k and "lets go!" Still tempted, now that we have our results done independently to go back but wonder what he will think when he sees that we have all these tests done with his competitors? Its very hard to decide !

Hi I agree with Bourn Hall and the fact that they helped with the very first ivf baby... but my concern is that i was initially emailed by their general manager who was very helpful, informative. When i emailed back, this lady seemed to have disappeared, and someone else contacted me, again this happened ..... When i spoke to them yesterday they took my details again and said that they would be in touch next week as were unable to book any further appointments... I had a failed cycle with Dr Fakih in January. Compared to my treatment previously in the UK, it was easy with him, stress free, unfortunately just didnt stick. Ive also met with Dr Wael of DGFC... Im happy to exchange email addresses if you want to chat further??

Hi nickym1d In a very similar situation to yourself. Managed to book an apt yesterday for 11/07. have been advised that they still do not have their license, but are expecting to be granted it this week. I have postioned this with the husband and he is not happy to go somewhere that does not have stats to back them up. I am torn as i like very much their ethos and feel comfortable knowing that their founder was the pioneer of IVF. Having spoken to their Chief Nurse directly in March I felt her empathy and patience. Bit concerned about the threads I have read about Fakih-however they are transparent it quoting stats and even offer a money back guarantee which leaves a bit of a bad taste in my mouth. Comes across as a hard sell to me. Any other clininc suggestions????

Thanks for your replies xx Im intrigued, ive exchanged emails with them a few times, their last email to me was the end of May saying they are open to see patients .... So i rang today (after the advise of yet another Dr ive seen... for a 3rd opinion) and been told that they are not taking appointments as they dont have their license as yet !!?? Trying to find out about their doctors, see if its worth while waiting to see if/when they actually do open ... or whether i decide to stick with Fakih or move to Dr Wael/Mohammad ...

Hi Nickym1d, I canceled my appiontment with them after a comment from a friend of mine, she said that they were more expensive than all the other clinics in Dubai and she thought the facility and doctors where not geared up and ready for patients. This was however months ago, so don't know how it is now, would be nice to hear any updates:).

Hi Nicky, I never went but looked into it, they qouted me a while back last year 38K for one cycle of IVF, which we found too much for us. They might have lowered there prices now though. MB xxx
