So one fine day (at whatever different ages) did your kids just start sleeping for 12 hours (or close) straight without even needing a dreamfeed?

Mine has dropped one of his feeds and I'm still, 3 weeks on, waking automatically at the time he usually wakes! Do you think I can drop off to sleep again straight away? No chance! Yes I know what you mean, mine has slept through all week and I have been awake every night, checking the monitor is still working, tossing and turning, so frustrating, its almost like I need to breasteed to go back to sleep myself!

All kids (and adults) wake several times a night though, some just don't need help going back to sleep. Mine has dropped one of his feeds and I'm still, 3 weeks on, waking automatically at the time he usually wakes! Do you think I can drop off to sleep again straight away? No chance!

At 5 months she dropped her night feed (we never did dreamfeeds) and started sleeping 13hrs 6pm-7am. Having a few hiccups now we are teething mind, but few and far between.

arrrghhh mine has had a horrid sleep pattern... whether she was breastfed or bottlefed made absolutely no difference... she was just one of those specimens who wouldn't sleep for more than 3 or 4hrs straight... now she's 4yrs old and ever since after her birthday she's been sleeping from 9pm to 9am daily with no problems... God's finally smiling down on me! and just when I thought I'm finally gonna get a good night's sleep... I find out I'm preggers again!!! let's hope this baby is a better sleeper! :)

mine did 7 til 4am of his own accord from about 8 weeks until around 5 months, then regressed and still wakes up several times a night even now (at one year old) although has slept through the last few nights and it has been BLISS! All kids (and adults) wake several times a night though, some just don't need help going back to sleep.

Mine (just like that!) stopped having his night feeds and slept 8 hours straight at 9 weeks, and never looked back. In fact, in the last couple of weeks he has started to wake up between 7.30 and 8 am which means he now sleeps almost 10 hours. His feeds now are 6am (or as soon as he wakes up), 10am, 2pm, 6pm, 10pm.

yup... never did dreamfeeds, but my two stopped any kind of night feed at 9 months and 11 months respectively. DD was going 19h-3h-7h (then pushing back the feed so 19h-4h-7h then 19h-5h-7h until she stopped) and DS dropped his 22h/23h feed pretty early on, but then did 19h-1h-3h-5h-7h for ages until he dropped them all suddenly. edited by Hello.Again.Kitty on 01/08/2011

Yep about 5 months still sleeping at 2 yrs old... May have a morning of getting up early but she's been a fab sleeper since she was born. My eldest wasn't as good and went through some difficult stages or being scared of her cot etc lol each one is different.
