I was in the elevator with another pregnant lady and a guy. The guy says, "uh-oh, two pregnant ladies. Dont have any emergencies while we're in here" I hadnt even noticed her bump and being 5 weeks away said, "I'm more like than her to pop." Turns out she's a week from due date. Feeling hugenormous is an understatement. Can this bump seriously get any bigger?!

Yeah me :) I watched the trailer for The King's Speech earlier - and was welling up. Now I'm sure it's a great and moving film but it's not Watership Down for goodness sake! Crying at everything LOL, hormones are all over the shop. And I am massive! DH commented yesterday that the bump looks like a giant egg, nice. I am quite glad that most of the weight gain is on the bump though. And I am 38 wks on Thurs so really not long now! Had a slow waddle to Dubai Mall and back which was OK. Might try for a swim later this week.

Hello, I havent had any braxton hicks yet, but dont think i did with the other two either. She is extremely active though and loves a good bounce around at 4 am! Do you know what your having Stovetop? Have you got any names picked out? I really need to get organised and get the baby's room kitted out and also get some bedcovers or sheets. I havent thought about pushchairs yet either, lots of recommendations for the Bugaboo though, so might test drive a few models round the baby shop. Got over the cold/flu but have developed a lot of swelling in my ankles and feet. Anyone else suffering or has any good advise to reduce swelling? Nic

Right, so anyone else who's also: Getting crazy Braxton Hicks or WHATEVER it is that makes your tummy tight? Going berserk with baby's CONSTANT dancing around the tummy. Impatient to get this done with and wants to FINALLY hold baby (this I say while trying not to think of the sleepless nights ahead) Still confused about which pushchair to buy? Not being able to resist cuteness-personified little clothes ESPECIALLY when there's a sale all over the place? :) :) :)

...dont even get me started on the weak bladder and sneazing issue! ... Don't mean to sound unsympathetic, but I'm so glad someone else has this too!!! :) When I was dying with the viral 2 weeks back, one night I threw up my dinner and realised that while doing so, I'd made a small puddle in the loo. Like TOTAL loss of bladder control... so much for Kegels :o

Stovetop - dont watch any birth videos - except for a contraceptive reminder!! Dollymud - cannot think of anything id like to do less and I would not even tell DH if Dr gave me that advice ;-) It must be the weather as I have also suffered from the cold this week - awful during the night between, toilet stops, heartburn and blocked nose......dont even get me started on the weak bladder and sneazing issue! Hope the March ladies are all feeling better this weekend. xox

I have been so sick for the past few days. been down with a bad cold, awful sore throat, when I cough I feel like my throat is on fire, now I have a runny and stuffy nose. Have not been able to sleep for the past few nights, it's been awful. I just hope I can get all better before the LO decides to come. it sucks being sick and not able to take anything for it. Hope everyone is healthy! Ugh, that was me a week back. I know exactly how you feel... hope you start feeling better soon! Tx, did you take anything for your cold? Or did it just go away on it's own? I was ultimately put on antibiotics because the fever kept coming back and the doc said that's what she was worried about since it indicated pneumonia. If it's just a cough, stick to home remedies... unless of course it gets really uncomfy and u can probably mention it to your nurse? I called my nurse before the onset of the fever and she asked to take this cough syrup called Sinecod. tx Stovetop!

I have a new line for her, "stay as long as you need, but dont overstay your visit" :) Its getting uncomfortable! And yet, 7 weeks to go. And you? How are the glucose levels? Ditto. Grow like real fast and come out when you feel full term at 36 or whatever weeks :D :D :D (Feel like such a bad mum sometimes :( but it is getting uncomfortable) Glucose levels are quite ok now. Are any of you already done with the showers etc? How'd it go?

So an eventful week for me. Did my glucose tolerance test and 2 of the readings were marginally high... so i met the diabetes education nurse and she explained in GREAT detail about how it happens... the insulin, the carbs and all that lovely stuff. Anyway, we bough a glucometer and am pricking myself to death to test my sugar levels 4 times a day. Also, caught a viral and had fever for a couple of days. Thankfully the fever hasnt come back today but the throat pain and dry cough persists. So sick of being sick :( The doc said that baby's well protected... but am still scared. Hope she isn't affected is any way :( hang in there stovetop - home stretch....but no more cookies for you! ;) all will be well

I bought mine from the education nurse itself because hospitals generally get good offers from these companies. We paid 255 for 2 boxes of test strips with 50 in each, and one box of 50 lancets and therefore got the meter free. thanks x

Hello ladies! I'm due 2nd March (so could eventually fall into the Feb bracket). I'm 32 weeks now and it feels like it's getting mighty close. I have an 18 month old so I don't want the time to go too quickly - I'm going to have my hands full indeed! Wishing everyone a happy healthy 3rd trimester. edited by Wanderlust_Mama on 04/01/2011
