Hi we have left the UAE last Dec and are due to return probably to Mirdif in Jan, so my info might not be as up to date as others. I see no one has replied as yet so thought I'd chip in despite not being there anymore. I did discover after DD was born in Jan 10 that a lot of groups run at the other end of town and did a lot of driving but towards the end of the year things were starting to open up more around the area. Not sure how old your little one is but here are some ideas I can think of: - There was a boogie babies class at Mirdiff City Centre and their was also Kiddly Winks which ran out of Mirdif and the al reesh club DIFC (http://www.activeuae.com/ActiveSports/index.php?option=com_mtree&task=listcats&cat_id=638) - Al Reesh Club has baby swim classes from about 4 months old I think. My DD loved it and the venue was nice. We ended up paying for a membership every couple of months and I used the gym and DD and I would often head down to the pool and playground to fill in some time. I think they have other groups advertised sometimes on the board. - If you fancy a walk, there is a nice, fancy padded walk/run track out the back of Kwhaneeji rd- past Arabian mall up to the big round about turn left and then I think its first right. - There is a group called Mirdif Mums, it was never really my cup of tea.. I used to attend the bumps and babes at Dubai mall but some people like it (http://www.mirdifmums.com/) They also used to organise mum and babes cinema events (cartoons etc) but not sure if they still do. - There was a tots group at DIFC, but I think that may have moved to MCC ( I think it was an expat woman group) I'll have a think and see if anything else comes to mind. I gave up work when DD was born so I know how you feel. Awaiting to arrival of DS so that will be a new dynamic! Good luck

Hi there! I've recently become a stay-at-home mum. I live in Ras al Khaimah, and to be honest, although it's a lovely place, there isn't much to keep me and my near-toddling son entertained (I'm finding the new career change hard! I miss my job). So, I need things to do with him. I'm quite happy to drive into Dubai (that's where I worked before). Really need some advice on playgroups, classes etc around the area-anything to keep me sane (and to entertain the little lad). Looking forward to hearing your suggestions! Thanks :)
