Scan came back today same as last week, however my paperwork from last week was all wrong which has now left me doubting the FMC. I'm thinking about going to n9ne for another opinion. What do you ladies think?

Hi all. Hope you are well. Good luck Scottish Gal - hope everything is ok. We are looking at moving to a villa in July but its all up in the air at the moment as we have found a villa but the contract is awful so it may come to nothing. So this means I am not sure when would be good in July as we were looking to move mid July. I will keep an eye out on here as to when people can make and hope that I can too. I have another appointment next Tuesday at Latifa hospital so fingers crossed I meet a nice doctor who will read my notes properly and not make me feel stupid :)

I'm using Dr Britt @ City Hosp & she's fab. I also recommend Dr George @ N9ne medical centre. Make sure your health insurance covers maternity as it is a pretty expensive business over here! Good luck today, ScottishGal4! Keep us posted...

Any dates work for me. But that could change, will keep checking the board to see what the majority decides. All my bloods came back normal, off to FMC today for another scan. The waiting game is just awful. Ginger dee- hope the moves goes well and u make your final hospital decision soon. I have chosen to go with city hospital and I cannot recommend them enough. I have been seeing my ob/gyn there since 7wks. City hospital is a favourite amongst my friends as are the following dr's. Dr Britt, Dr Elsa and Dr ibrahim..

Hi ladies Haven't posted in a while, been mega busy getting packed ready for our move! Glad to hear the anomaly scans have gone well-fingers crossed for you scottishgal. Had ours and everything looking great, I love seeing baby :) didn't find out what we're having, we wanted a surprise. Move wise we're just waiting for my husbands visa documents to come through so he can get over there and then I'm working in the uk til 20th July and following him out soon afterwards. Not long now! Been trying to look into hospitals and doctors etc online we're thinking we like the sound of city hospital but going to have a look when we get to Dubai. We're always very grateful for any tips/advice :) Bump is getting on nicely, a few people who didn't realise I'm pregnant have been noticing it in the last week which is nice! xx

Hi All, I haven't been on EPW in ages, but all going fab! I'm getting huge, bigger than with my first! I am leaving for London on 23rd July & staying until the birth- due 4th Oct, so I can have my bubba at the same place my daughter was born... There seems to be lots of salsa dancing in my belly, especially about 3am!!! Can't wait to meet the little prince! ScottishGal4- Still haven't made it to pilates or yoga, have you been yet? Cheers! edited by champagneblonde on 19/06/2012

Ah, sorry to hear your scan didn't go too well ScottishGal :( I just looked it up and read the same as taurusbaby though, so since you are borderline hopefully it will resolve itself in pregnancy. I hope the tests show this too. Knowing it's a boy must be quite exciting!

Welcome back ScottishGal! Sorry to hear about the results of the scan :-(. I just read that if its only mild ventriculomegaly then it usually resolves itself during the pregnancy. Hopefully this will be the case for you as well. Let us know how the follow up scan goes...

Hi ladies, I'm finally back from our wonderful escape from the heat. Great to see the board becoming so active. Would love to meet up for a coffee morning, just give me a date and time... Had my anomaly scan a few days ago, we're having a boy!! Unfortunately we have borderline ventriculomegaly... Right side brain 11.5mm left 10mm with 10 being the set limit of normal.. Was a bit of a shock!!! I have done some blood tests which I await the results and will go for another scan next week... Congratulations to everyone.. We are already half way!!

Afternoon ladies, Hope everyone is well. It's getting hot outside now! Am really looking forward to my holiday - hubby and I are off at the end of next week to the UK and Italy. 11legs and maisa - hope things go well at Latifa. Looks like you have to be prepared for odd and unexpected scheduling, but I'm sure they are fine. I think my doctor thinks I'm getting ahead of myself because I keep asking about birthing plans etc and she just says it's too early to do that now - she's probably right. Hope all the morphology scans are going well :) Looking forward to more updates xxx edited by *Jules* on 14/06/2012

Hi everyone. Haven't been on here for a couple of weeks and there are lots more ladies all due around the same time which is great. Congratulations to Scurry77, *Jules*, Barmy Army, Maisa, Leenavay and Nyle!! Maisa - my experience with Latifa hospital is a bit strange to be honest. I had a my 12 week scan elsewhere so they said that they would do the 20 week scan which was actually 23 week scan. I have had 2 appointments so far with different doctors. The second doctor was a bit abrupt to be honest and I had said that I wanted to ask questions. She seemed to want to rush me and dismissed some of what I asked about making me feel a bit stupid for asking. Perhaps it was a language thing or me being a bit sensitive. Hopefully she will not be doing the next appointment at the end of June. I had my 23 week scan this morning which was odd. I am used to being able to see the baby the whole way through the scan but sonographer only showed me at the end. I asked for photos but she said I had to pay. So I said ok as it was 10 AED per photo but none of them were any good as they were pictures of the face or the legs etc not a picture of the whole baby. So far I have had 2 appointments as I said one in mid April and at the end of May. I did read that there would be 6 which is different to other private hospitals where you have 12. They are extremely busy there and I have waited at least an hour for each appointment and even for the scan this morning which I thought would have been quicker but never mind. At my last appointment I did try and ask about natural and c-sections and the response was very confusing. They seem to be saying that they assess you at different times for each which I found a bit odd as I don't know what I want to do and need advice. I was told that I am classed as a high risk pregnancy which I didn't understand and when I asked why it was clear she had not read my notes properly. I am sure things will become clearer and I certainly will not be asking to see the same doctor as last time again. What I would really like to know is the policy in Dubai hospitals for being overdue. In the UK they leave you for about 2 weeks and assess you regularly. If you don't want to be induced you are monitored very carefully to ensure the baby doesn't get too big. I have not heard of anyone being overdue but I haven't spoken to that many people who have had babies here. I am going on holiday for 2 weeks during Ramadan and will be getting a fitness to fly certificate from the hospital. Anyway ladies I hope you are all feeling well and enjoying your pregnancies.

Hi ladies! I’m so glad I found this thread. I’m at 18 and a half weeks with my first – due 13th October – and rather nervous about the whole thing! Congratulations to all of you, it sounds like there’s a few of us. I’m fairly new to Dubai so really keen to discuss things on here and meet up as well if anyone’s up for that – would be great to share it with people going through the same thing. I won’t be able to go to the coffee mornings (unless they’re at the weekend?) as I work in the week. We’re seeing Dr Grace at Dubai Mall Medical Centre and she delivers at City Hospital. She’s been really good so far, and I’ve heard City Hospital is excellent, although we haven’t looked around it yet. Just over a week till we find out if it’s boy or girl! Is everyone else going to find out? taurusbaby and 11legs you're having girls! How exciting. I've been to Prenatal Yoga at Exhale in JBR a couple of times – has been really good and I’m going to try to go most Saturdays I think. Have just started getting more energy and feeling less sick in the last week or so, so it feels good to actually do a bit of (gentle!) activity. You can just pay as you go at that branch, so I assume it’s the same at MotorCity. Aqua aerobics would be brilliant – let me know if you find anywhere that does it champagneblonde! I'm going back to the UK for a couple of weeks at the end of June, can't wait. And I too just did a big maternity shop. Feels so much more comfortable wearing clothes that fit properly around the little bump - work trousers were becoming a bit of a struggle! Barmy Army and 11legs – when are you due? Hope everyone is doing well, look forward to hearing updates! xxx Hi Jules. My due date is 3 October.

Glad your scan went well taurusbaby :) It does sound like you might have done the yoga slightly wrong - or you were pushing yourself too hard maybe. Just take it easy for a bit - focus on the shopping! Nyle and leenavaz - congratulations! I'm going to talk to my doctor about antenatal classes at City Hospital but I was wondering about going somewhere closer to home as I live in the Marina area. Going to start shopping this weekend - exciting! xxx

Hi ladies! I just had my anomaly scan and all looks good so far and really happy. Also confirmed a girl so I can finally start shopping and decorating now :-) Haven't decided yet if I'll be doing the antenatal classes. As for exercise, I attempted some yoga with a DVD that I bought but I must have done something wrong because my back hurt like crazy for a week and can't bear to think about doing any more right now :-(

Hi to all and congrats!! Just discovered this thread, I'm due on October 25th. @Jules I'm thinking of going to City Hospital's Classes (since I'm planning to deliver there) but according to my Dr. she said it's still a bit early, so I'll wait a couple of weeks more. Will be doing the anomaly test next Sunday, pretty excited/scared!

Hi ladies, Nearly all of us must be over half-way now - yeah! Hope everyone is doing well. Any news on anomaly scans and boys vs girls? Barmy Army - when are you back in Dubai? I would definitely be up for some pre-natal stuff - exercise class or otherwise. Let's plan something. I'm going to pre-natal yoga at JBR Exhale this Saturday if anyone wants to join? Interiors - when are you due? Has anyone booked antenatal classes yet? I'm starting to think about this but haven't booked anything. Look forward to hearing from everyone :)

Hi Maisa! Congratulations to you as well :-) I read that anomaly scan can be done up to 24 weeks but I don't think there's any reason why you can't have it later. I have a friend who is going to Latifa and she did mention that their appointments schedule is always busy and hers were far between. Maybe you can ask them to wait-list you for an earlier date in case cancellations? I have my anomaly scan next Monday at 21w+4days. Looking forward to it but also a little scared! Jules - glad to hear your scan went well :-)

Hi Congrats to you all. I am expecting my second child and is due 29. October. I am going to Latifa hospital, have been there only once so far, but did some scans in private clinics. I must say my experience with Latifa so far has been a bit confusing so far, hope it Will be better from now on since i am through the first registration and first check up. @11legs: I hope you dont mind me asking, did you have your scans at Latifa? (as i read it you had one at 23 week). I went for my first visit a week ago and i got an appointment for a scan 1 of august where i will be around 28 weeks!!! That is so late if normaly you have an anomaly scan around 20 weeks. I have really have to be a lot better at asking questions, information has to be dragged out of people there.

Congratulations Scurry77, and hope things work out with jobs. For the Saturday pre-natal yoga at Exhale JBR, they do like you to book in advance but I've just done been doing that on the actual morning - the class is at 11.45. Let me know if you go - I can't go this weekend but am planning to go on the 9th June. How is everyone? We had our 20 week scan yesterday and all is well thankfully. And we found out.... it's a boy! Very exciting. It definitely makes it all feel very real. That and the growing bump and starting to feel him moving around in there! taurusbaby - can't believe we are so close in due date, and delivering at the same hospital! :) Any other updates? Hope everyone is doing ok xxx

Hi all Im trailing at the back as a FTM with a due date of 30 October! Always last to the party! Anyways its good to see so many other October mums in Dubai. Im really interested in starting the Saturday pre-natal Yoga at JBR Exhale - is it a "turn up and see" type thing or do you need to call ahead an book? NewHannah - sorry to hear about your hubby's job. Im in the same boat as my husband lost his job 6 months ago. Im still working though so we have one salary coming in. Ive worked out that its cheaper to stay here on a single salary than to move back to the UK and be on a single salary until he finds a job so we're staying put for now. Its so difficult though - so many decisions to make and not being able to travel during the last trimester certainly adds pressure. Anyways fingers crossed they both get something soon! xxx

Hi Gingerdee! Welcome to the group and soon to Dubai :-). Happy to help with any info you need to help you settle here. I also found in my recent scan that we are having a girl...yay! But holding off on buying anything pink until my next scan at 21 weeks in early June. I just did my first big shop for maternity wear as I can't get away with my normal clothes anymore. I went and bought online from ASOS and I think it was good deal....got 10 items ( 2 dresses, 5 blouses, 2 vests and 1 pair leggings) for 1300 dhs :-) 11legs: will be taking a short holiday in July and looking forward to it.

Congratulations Barmy Army, Flowerd and Gingerdee! This pregnancy seems to be flying by. I am halfway through now, just another 20 weeks to go :). How are you all feeling? I am just tired now, the sickness seems to have gone which is nice. I am starting to feel more movements which is really nice. Gingerdee - we moved to Dubai last July and it is absolutely roasting then. Unfortunately it is already in the low 40s and set to get hotter so enjoy the colder weather in the UK. Flowerd - I am not taking pregnancy dha but I am taking pregnacare and calcium tablets. I had a scan a couple of weeks back and found out that I am having another girl! It does make life easier having already had a girl. I am having my next scan is just under 3 weeks which will be the anomaly scan so they can confirm for sure then. Is anyone planning on going back to their home country over summer? I am planning to go on holiday but only for a couple of weeks.
