Hi everyone,
Congratulations to you all! I'm due on the 21st October with my first. I'm still in the UK at the moment but my husband just accepted a job in Dubai so looks like I'll be heading over there in July. Seems like so much to think about right now! I'll be around 28weeks when I get over there, I'm just trying to work out my maternity pay etc at the mo. I'm glad to have found a group of people who will be in the same situation as me when I get out there, I'm sure I'll have loads of questions for you all, would love to meet up!
Hope you're all well x
ScottishGal4- Hope the scan went well! Enjoy your trip & let us know when you're back. We should organise a Bump Morning or meet up at an Exhale class?
I'm feeling much more movement now from my little prince, which is really reassuring!!!
Cheers
Champagneblonde, thanks for getting back to me. I've also been very busy, dh and I are on vacation from sunday for the next 3weeks so plan to start at exhale as soon as we return. Really starting to feel the weight creeping up. I had a look at the ranches mums group website but was a little confused as to how I join as I do not know any members.
16 week scan tomorrow, super excited to see little one bouncing around again.
Hi flowed- I am using Dr Britt & love her! She even knows my OB in the UK who I used with my last baby!
Hi Scottish Gal4- Haven't been to Exhale yet as haven't had free time, but will let you know. I am pretty sure you can go casually... Have you joined Ranches Moms?
Hi everyone,
My due date is 29th september +/- 5 days. Was following up in my home country Lebanon but currently I am here and looking for a good gyn as I heard that many doctors puch c section delivery which made me afraid. Any information about Dr. britt Claussen in City Hospital?
Any one has started taking pregnancy dha already and which brand? Thank you
Hi Flowerd! Welcome and congratulations :-)
Sorry, can't help re Dr. Claussen. Have you tried a search on here? Am sure there other women who may have some info.
I am not taking DHA. My OB gave me a multi-vitamin, Iron and Calcium to take daily.

Hi Champagneblonde, do u know if they allow you to pay per class or must you become a member at exhale motorcity? i sent them a email but they never got back to me. Then i popped in but the lady working the desk that day was not sure.. I am really keen to start the prenatal classes there as i also live in AR.
I am going to do Prenatal Pilates at Exhale in Motor City (as I live in AR), but they also have a branch in Jumeirah, I think. And they do yoga as well. I've been swimming loads too to help with my pelvis (I had Pubis Symphisis last pregnancy which was awful, fingers crossed this time!)... Wish I could find an Aqua Aerobics class as that is great during the hot weather & especially as you get bigger & bigger!!!
I have felt him move a few times, which is just the best feeling & so reassuring!!!
Hope you're all feeling well & growing nicely!!
Hi taurusbaby, thanks for the reply.
I think I'm thinking this way because I have felt so crappy over the past 14 weeks and wondering when the constantly feeling hungry/nausea feeling will go away.
I'm defiantly finding out the s@x of the baby cos I'm too impatient to wait. my husbands convinced its a girl but I'm not sure, my gut is telling me boy but there's only girls in both sides of families so he might be right. Good luck at your next scan and keep us informed.
Where are you planning to have the baby? I'm still not sure weth to have it here or back home in the uk.
Barmy Army and Interiors welcome to October Due thread :-) . Hope you’ll see this thread and let’s keep this one going since there’s a few of us on here already.
I have an appointment next week and will hopefully find out S** of baby and looking forward to it. Are you planning to find out the *** or wait?
Barmy Army, it’s totally normal to be nervous with the first. I think I will probably have a delayed reaction and the nerves will hit much later :-0
Congratulations ScottishGal4 and Champagneblonde!
I didn't find out the XXX at my 12 week scan. They couldn't tell because it was probably too early. Unfortunately my 20 week scan will in fact be at 23 weeks so a bit longer to wait to find out unless I am offered any scans before then.
When I was pregnant with my first I did some yoga towards the end of the pregnancy and it was really nice. I wish I had discovered it earlier but never mind.
Re Expat Woman Bumps and Babes coffee mornings. When we arrived in Dubai last summer my daughter and I went to the mornings and they were fine. My intention is to go again when my daughter starts nursery in September as she is now walking and will not simply sit in one place for too long. This doesn't bode well for coffee mornings. Lisa who runs them is very friendly and has 2 boys herself. I think anytime would be a good time to start going to the coffee mornings as there are bound to be other mums to be there who would love to share experiences and chat.
I am still feeling very shattered even though I am in the second trimester but that might be to do with baby no 1!
Congratulations to you as well ScottishGal4 and Champagneblonde!
Am seeing Dr. Sima at Medwin Clinic in Jumeirah and very happy with her. Will deliver with her at City Hospital :-)
I also didn't find out the *** at my 13 week scan (was too early) but hopefully at my next appointment in a few weeks. Can't wait to find out!
I've been wanting to do some prenatal yoga but I just haven't had the energy to get started yet. Am getting better now but I've been so tired after work and all I want to do is go home and sleep. But this week I feel my energy levels starting to improve so I may get started soon. There's evening classes at Zen yoga at Media City and in Jumeirah and both are convenient for me.
ScottishGal, if you passed 12 weeks and doc hasn't told you otherwise it should be fine to do yoga//pilates. My doc keeps telling me that I should do some exercise!
Don't know much about the bumps and babies coffee mornings....
Congratulations ladies, newhannah I hope everything works out for you... X
I'm due October 31st with my 1st bubba, so I've just made the cut. So far everything is looking good. I have chosen Dr Elsa @ city hospital, had my 1st consult with her and I am very happy with our choice. We did the nt scan at Fetal medicine clinic but unfortunately didn't find out the *** as we didn't realise we had to ask while we were in the scan room.. Hopefully at the next scan. Looking forward to meeting others and getting lots of advise...
When would be a good time to attend a bumps and babies coffee morning?
Has anyone done prenatal yoga/ pilates, I would like to start so would be nice to get some info as I'm a little nervous about starting classes..
Good luck to everyone xx
Congrats!
I am due with bubba No2 on 5th October, this time it's a BOY!!! My first was a girl.
So far I've been having my prenatal care at City Hospital with Dr. Britt (Swedish but worked in UK), who is really wonderful!
I went to Cooper Health Clinic for 1 consult, but didn't like it there, so went to City Hosp as a friend recommended it.
I had my NT scan with Dr. George (foetal medicine specialist) at Nine Medical Centre, who is really lovely too!
I'm going to have my baby in London, but luckily my obstetrician here knows my obstetrician in the UK (what a small world!)..
Hope you're all feeling good now you're in the 2nd trimester!!!!!
Congratulations! to you both too.
Sorry to hear that your husband lost his job Newhannah. You never know what will happen as you say. Hopefully you won't have to leave Dubai.
Well our insurance is not great so I am going to give Queen Latifa a go. I have my first appointment tomorrow so fingers crossed it will be ok.
I am excited and nervous and all those things. My due date is 3 October.
I have heard very good things about City hospital and American hospital so good luck with choosing. I don't know about you but it is a bit of minefield. In the UK where I am from you don't have so much choice which is much easier.
Anyway good luck to you both!
Hi ladies!
Congratulations to both of you firstly!
Am due in October as well...on the 10th and it is baby number 1 for me so am excited and terrified at the same time :-)
I haven't decided yet but it will either be American Hospital or City Hospital for the delivery, just looking at the different options.
NewHannah, sorry to hear about DH's job. Hospital packages could be an option but as you've said you never know what could happen and you just don't want to take any risks.
Hi 11Legs,
Congratulations :)
I am due on the 17th of October with baby number three...very excited and can't wait to know the *** lol
My DH just lost his job so we might have to leave the country soon so baby will be born back home.
It was suppose to be first baby in Dubai but insurance was canceled with DH job...we are still looking at other options like packages but I keep thinking of what IF...
Who is your doc? Where are planning the birth?
Good luck
