Hi

I'm new to the forum so please bear with me whilst I find my way around!

I have a son aged two and a half and we're on the look out for playgroups. We live in Arabian Ranches so anything local would be great, but we would go to other locations if need be.

If you know of any groups please do let me know - and any other recommendations of things for a busy 2 year old would be much appreciated too.

Thanks in anticipation.

PCW

For anyone that wants to know, I enquired about the playgroup on the Palm. It runs on Thursday from 10.30 - 11.30 and is 15 dhs. I haven't tried it out yet but the lady I spoke to sounded nice and I'm sure the facilities will be excellent as it's at the Children's Oasis playcentre.

Hi all, Im living in ranches too and looking for some playgroups for my dd who is 20 months and sick of the sight of me.. I am trying to find a nursery school for her a few hours a week to get her used to being around other kids besides her siblings...Still getting used to this life in dubai yes the weather is beautiful but Im exhausted has it happened to anyone else.I dont have a maid so my whole day is running on school runs cleaning and trying to amuse the kids then getting used to hubby working longer hours and then when he is back the blackberry is beeping non stop argh....Just wud love to catch up with some adults for some conversation. Is there any meetups in AR for newbies here just for a chat or if there is any events on for someone to go with I have seen a few things coming up but with no babysitters it means going alone which i am tempted to do!!!!! sorry about the moaning i love it here really but u know sometimes just need to offload a bit lol I second this. Its a massive adjustment. Im at Media City and I go to the toddler playgroup at Ibn Battuta mall on a sunday at Fun City 10-12. Its great to meet new mums and plenty for the kids to do. Its straight there on the metro too for those mums who dont drive. Definitely worth a look :)

Hi Ladies, I too live on the ranches, with a 2 yr old v active little girl and a new baby. We are looking for play groups to join on sundays and / or wednesdays - any suggestions? I would prefer to find somewhere that is not too big ie. i would like to be able to sit and have a coffee and watch her play rather than follow her up and down several floors. Corkshelly - totally understand what you mean! How long have you been here? Hope to hear from someone soon. My DD is 17 months old - also active & I seem to be battling to find a playgroup / at least friends with children of a similar age - I had so many groups that I could / would meet up with for my eldest DD - she is now at school & my youngest is quite bored in the mornings!!! Hope we can arrange something - welcome to bring your children to my place to play!

I got an email from the new soft play centre mini monsters, free play for toddlers on Monday between 9am - 11am. You have to buy a cup of coffee but its supervised play with there staff and allows parents to meet up and chat. I thought i would let other mums know. I will be taking DD (2.5) there on Monday to give it ago.

Boogie Babies is [email protected]. My little ones always enjoyed that they have classes all over dubai. There is a playgroup on thursday mornings in Arabian Ranches with a lovely lady Amanda call her 0504560413 with some nice mums going to that. Good luck

Expat Woman Toddler group at Playnation, Mirdif City Centre tomorrow morning 10.00 to 12.00. I think there's also a Boogie Babies group in Soccer Circus at MCC on Sunday mornings, there's a board outside there that would tell you more.

I'm sure there are playgroups in AR, if you look up dubaikidz.biz they have lots of info on playgroups and activities for kids:)
