HI DebsDebs,
Apologies if I sound paranoid, but I would not leave any drinks (or food) near my kids at night. It is a very unlikely to happen to anybody, but I know the case when a little girl choked on water and she has been in coma ever since. Choking is a 'silent' event so parents may not be aware of child choking.
My DD is 8 months and uses a sippy cup, I have all sorts, the free flow and the non spill ones. She seems to really like the non spill tommee teepee ones. I have some with hanles and others without. I bought mine from spinneys and have been great so far.
There are lots of "non-spill" water bottles out there and I have tried many! Although a bit pricy I found this one from Just Kidding great and my daughter loved it and used it for a long time. It doesnt spill, they have to suck to get the water out and its such a great shape they love holding it.

Question for you ladies please: DD is now 15 months old and well able to drink her water from a sippy cup. Should I be leaving a sippy cup (or bottle of water) in her cot so that she can have a drink at night? She's usually a great little sleeper but is occasionally waking up very thirsty these days. As soon as I give her a drink of water she lays back down and goes to sleep. Any thoughts?
Also, if you do think it's a good idea, how do you avoid the bed and sheets getting wet?
TIA
