Thanks for the reassuring reply Kakariki. Good to know she is not the only 4 year old in nappies and that she might be out of them in the next year. I totally agree about not being into washing bedlinen every day - especially when there is no progress being made!
My oldest child (DS) stopped wearing a nappy at night at about 5 1/2. Second child (DD) was about 5 and my 4 year old DD is still wearing them. I always thought about starting it earlier but to be honest, I'm not into washing every day so if they aren't ready, then don't worry.
My DD has been day-time potty trained since she was about 2 but she has just turned 4 with no end of night-time nappies in sight. We have tried stopping night-time nappies twice in the last 18 months with no success - she just doesn't seem to have the ability to hold it or wake up in time. She has never even had a dry nappy in the morning. Her father can't make it through the night without a visit to the toilet so maybe she got her bladder control from him! Was just wondering if anyone else experienced this as I always seem to hear of children being night-time potty trained at the same time or shortly after being day-time potty trained. And if she doesn't have enough bladder control aged 4, when is she likely to, if ever? We have tried stopping liquids 2 hours before bedtime, making her go to the toilet just before bed & waking her up during the night to take her to the toilet and she still wets the bed!
