Storing/freezing home made baby food: how do you do it?

Hi ladies,
I'm wondering how you all store your freshly pureed baby foods? I plan on starting DD on solids soon and I'd like to make fresh food for her and refrigerate/freeze it, rather than buy the store ready made jars.

So which containers do you store it in? Can you buy the small pop-out freezer containers in Dubai?

Hi ladies, Just to update, DD has started homemade puree and is loving avocados and hating bananas lol! I used ice cube trays from Carrefour that are very useful for storing baby food, since they are very easy to bend and pop out the cubes, they are 6dhs for 2 trays. I also found great storage at Mothercare, they have pop-out freezer containers as well as small freezer pots in different sizes with lids, great for freezing and then taking on the go. Their bowls are also very good with lids and useful handles making them easy to hold, they also have bigger bowls with suction cups. All very reasonably priced too, I got: - a pack of 4 freezing tubs with lids that each hold 3oz (90ml) for 35dhs (they also had tubs of 60ml or 30ml not sure, they were so cute and tinyyyy, also with lids) - a pack of 2 feeding bowls with handles and lids for 25dhs. The products I'm referring to are of the Mothercare brand itself. Silicone ice cube trays are the easiest, freeze a batch, pop out into a ziplock bag and label. Once you need bigger portions then silicone muffin tins are good, once again pop out into ziplock bags. You can freeze absolutely anything, including cooked rice, cooked pasta and even cooked eggs. If you make a slightly thick puree then you can add a little hot water and quickly zap in the microwave to defrost, or let thaw in a container when out and about and add a little hot water to warm.

I started using ice cube trays but it ends up being so many pieces that DD needs now so a ice cube tray does not last long. So now i have bought the rubbermaid tupperware their smallest ones are a perfect size now. I bought one from Ace they have right now a packet of 12 pieces of different sizes for 79 aed i have bought two of them sets. You get 5 of the smallest size per set so works out nicely. Good luck. :)

I freeze lots of different purees in ice cubes trays. Once frozen I put them in to labelled freezer bags then mix and match as needed.

You can freeze it in ice cube trays and cover it with cling film or you could use the small tupperware boxes with lids. Remember to give veg puree mostly so they don't develop a sweet tooth.
