I think meat will be the hardest thing but if you have introduced non meat protein sources you should be fine. introduce eggs before you go, scrambled eggs without salt should be an easy ask as will fresh fruit (papaya is a good one, banana obviously, mango, etc. Take some vegie puree sachets if you are still doing purees, plain rice will def be easy to come by.

How long are you going for? Just pop to the supermarket and grab some babyfood and take it with you. If you can get fresh stuff great, if not you've got a back up. There will be avo, banana, mango etc and pasta, toast there that you can use too. Personally i wouldn't expect a chef to be making baby food, that would come under my realm. (Went to bali when DD was 8 months and took my own and our own steriliser too).

um.. its not that hard really. Every hotel will have fruits and veggies.. Plus, if u are into pureed stuff, just take along a hand held blender and do it yourself.

We've had this issue travelling with DD1 when she was a baby even in child friendly hotels in Switzerland. Trying to find something appropriate in their children's menus was impossible and even then, regardless how many times I had asked for no salt, no salt, NO SALT... they just wouldn't get it! If it were me, I would pack heaps of baby food just in case.

thanks ladies, wasnt sure about taking the veg from the buffet in restaurants incase salt has been added. But im sure i can just ask the guys to steam some veg if i have doubts. Same here Shelly , think i may take some jars aswell especially for the room if we dont go out.

Plumie just recently mentioned she has given up relying on hotel chefs. (Check the cot/hotel thread). I have been in the process of dealing with the resort we're staying in at the Maldives and they have told me when we arrive to sit down with their Chef and discuss DD's (will be 10mnths at that time) food arrangements and they'll be happy to help. But I am also going to take a heaps of my own baby food in jars etc just to be on the safe side.

I have no experience of Phuket, but if your baby is self-feeding, then eating in restaurants is less stressful as it's pretty easy to get a plate of plain noodles, some fruit or some steamed veggies - I imagine that some plain meat or chicken (if you're a non-veg family) would be easy to ask for too. Good luck, and have a fab trip! xx
