Coronavirus UAE: Ministry of Health Issues Fresh Travel Advisory

There are at least 26 cases in the UAE who tested positive for Covid-19.

As news of the novel Coronavirus continues to develop, the UAE Ministry of Health has called on residents and citizens to avoid any travel due to the virus' spread across multiple countries, including parts of Asia, Europe, and America.

The advisory was posted on the Ministry's official Twitter account, which read: "The Ministry of Health calls on citizens and residents to avoid traveling due to the current status of the coronavirus spreading in several countries."

The Dubai Health Authority (DHA) announced a new Coronavirus case in the country, where a 16-year-old school student has been diagnosed. The pupil was infected after her parents returned from a trip overseas, who also began to display the virus' symptoms five days into their return in the UAE.

Both the girl and her family members are quarantined at a hospital and are recovering.

Dubai authorities did not disclose the name of the school, which will undergo sanitisation to prevent the spread of Coronavirus among students and staff. Other pupils and school staff who have previously interacted with the student are currently being assessed and monitored.
