For those wondering how to see the Flower Moon in the UAE, it's recommended to find a high point while the moon is rising or an unobstructed area with lower artificial light (or light pollution).
The moon will likely be bright enough to be visible anywhere in the country, but your chances are even better from a high place.
When is the best time to take pictures of the Flower Moon?
According to Hasan Al Hariri, CEO of the Dubai Astronomy Group (DAG), the best time to take pictures is when the moon is rising.
While the Flower Moon will appear this Wednesday, it is expected to be at its brightest during the early morning of Thursday May 23, at around 2AM.
Where are the best places to see the Flower Moon in the UAE?
If you have the time this midweek, we recommend taking a trip out of the city as it's usually harder to see the celestial bodies due to light pollution.
Dubai residents can head to the desert or visit Hatta, while those based in Ras Al Khaimah or Ajman would have a better view further up from the mountains.
Abu Dhabi residents are in luck, as the UAE's capital is a great place for stargazing thanks to the emirate's Dark Sky policy, which limits light pollution and enhances the visibility of the evening sky. In Abu Dhabi, you can get a great view of the Flower Moon at Al Quaa Milky Way Spot or Shuweihat Island.
