It was revealed on Friday that the UAE population has witnessed an increase in 2017 in comparison to 2016.
The UAE witnessed 9,304,277 people in the country until December 31 to be exact.

This is a 2% increase in growth from the year before, according to the Federal Competitiveness and Statistics Authority.
Males and females in the UAE
The analysis of the UAE population was also detailed enough to reveal the male-to-female ratio in the country.
- Males accounted at 6,415,942 million people
- Females accounted at 2,888,335 million people
This had created a gender split of 69% males and 31% females of the entire UAE population – UAE nationals and expats inclusive.
Expats in the UAE
And it wasn’t long ago that we reported the news of the UAE having the highest expat population in the world.

Dubai actually has a population with an 83% expatriate percentage out of the entire population in the emirate.
Which means that almost 2.6 million residents in Dubai are foreign-born but currently work and live in the emirate – this is important to note because the total population is just 3.14 million.
Leaving only less than one million population accounting to the local Emiratis in the emirate.
According to McKinsey & Company, the expats in Dubai come from more than 200 countries and can speak over 140foreign languages.
Dubai’s past population
A number which is 261 times the resident population 137 years ago in 1881... In fact, in the late 19th century Dubai's population was estimated to only be at 12,000.
