New Minimum Salary Requirement for Expats to Sponsor 5 Relatives in UAE

The new minimum salary requirement for family-sponsored visas is effective immediately.

Expats in the UAE who plan to sponsor five family members' residence visa must now have a minimum monthly salary of at least AED 10,000, reported by Arabic newspaper Al Khaleej.

The sponsor is also required to have adequate housing for all sponsored relatives.

For foreign residents who wish to sponsor six relatives, it is mandatory for him or her to have a minimum salary of AED 15,000.

Expats planning on sponsoring more than six family members will have their applications subject to review by the Director-General.

The recent updates are part of a series of new amendments to all UAE visa types and durations, including golden visas, tourist visas, entry permits, and more.

These also include updated conditions to the UAE Job Exploration visa released last year.
