#MakeWhatsNext is Microsoft’s global initiative encouraging and empowering girls and women around the world to pursue careers and ventures in STEM (science, technology, engineering, mathematics).
We invited fifty entrepreneurs and women working in technology to join us for a morning of networking, career advice and inspiration, led by our wonderful panel of speakers.

The morning was kicked off by Hala Alhasan, of Microsoft’s Global Executive Talent Acquisition team, who spoke about Make What’s Next and provided interesting statistics on gender parity in the industry.

The insightful presentation was followed by Hiba Amer’s inspirational talk on how to succeed as a woman in business. Hiba, who works as a Technical Delivery Manager at Microsoft Services, offered a three-step approach to success and we were introduced to Sara Eid, a Premier Field Engineer at Microsoft who shared her own personal career story with the audience.

The Middle East’s leading career and life coach, Zeta Yarwood, filled the room with motivation and provided tips on how to deal with the obstacles most female entrepreneurs encounter.
We were also joined by two successful local tech entrepreneurs, Yamna Khan of PerksPlus and Lubna Taji of Fun Robotics, who shared their stories and offered practical business advice to the entrepreneurs in the room.

We closed off the event with an engaging panel discussion, led by Lucy Chow, Director of the Women’s Angel Investor Network.

It was a morning of insight, knowledge-sharing, networking and empowerment.
Thank you to all of the wonderful women who joined us on the day, a special thank you to our amazing line up of speakers and, of course, a big thanks to Microsoft for making this event possible.
