Role and Responsibilities

Teaching and Learning:

  • Planning for outstanding teaching and assessment, in line with the school’s Teaching & Learning and Assessment policies.
  • Deliver engaging, age-appropriate, Arabic instruction through stories, songs, and play.
  • Utilize play-based and inquiry-driven teaching methods to make Arabic learning enjoyable and accessible.
  • Support children's cognitive, emotional, physical, and social development through tailored activities.
  • Integrate Islamic education and Emirati culture meaningfully into Early Years provision.
  • Assess and record students' progress systematically and keep records, using performance data to inform planning, teaching, intervention, student learning, and progress.
  • Ensure scope and sequence, unit and lesson planning are up to date, accurate, and in line with IB and school requirements.

Other duties and responsibilities:

  • Recognize the Spark of Genius in every child and endeavor to follow the Dwight vision, mission, and pillars in every aspect of the role.
  • Undertake duties as part of the staff duty rota and cover for absent colleagues.
  • Undertake relevant training and professional development related to the role.
  • Support school events and activities, including the ECA programme.
  • Actively collaborate in the Dwight and IB community, which includes developing strong partnerships with all stakeholders, and the local and wider community.
  • Any other reasonable duties and additional hours of work as assigned by the Head of School or Head of Arabic & Islamic.

A Successful Applicant should possess the following criteria:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Islamic Studies or Islamic Education
  • Minimum one year of recent early childhood teaching experience or six months supervised practice.
  • Passion to work with young children in a school setting.
