Any other permits used between 10pm-6am will not be accepted.
Although the UAE has begun to ease its Covid-19 restrictions, such as allowing shopping malls to re-open and restaurants to accept diners again, residents are reminded that we are still required to stay at home from 10pm to 6pm for The National Disinfection Programme.
According to the Dubai Police permit website, residents must “note that all permits will be automatically rejected except for emergency related permits”
Last month, while the sanitisation programme was running 24 hours a day, Dubai residents needed a permit for essential outings such as grocery shopping or going to a hospital or clinic.
The latest update is that the only permits allowed to be used between 10pm to 6am outings are medical emergency permits. Any other permit will be rejected.
Below is a list from Dubai Police of those who are exempted from presenting any permit. If you are not a member of any of these sectors and fields, you will require a permit if moving between 10pm - 6am.
Residents do not need any kinds of permit when moving outside their homes from 6am to 10pm.
“Permits are issued only for people with medical emergencies because there is enough time for everybody to get their needs between 6am and 10pm,” said Major General Abdullah Ali Al Ghaithi, Director of the General Department of Protective Security and Emergency at Dubai Police.
“It’s not logical that someone asks for a permit to buy groceries after 10pm,” he added.
Those caught will be slapped with a AED 3,000 fine on the spot rather than a warning.
