Hi ek, we just pitched out tent on the beach. There were no facilities at all so we had all our water with us and our food was in a cool box with lots of ice. We've only camped one night at the time so didn't need to re-stock with ice cubes or water. A good idea is to freeze a few bottles of water (empty a little out first) and by the time you get through your other water those should still be cold if you've kept them in the icebox. I don't know of other camping spots but would be equally interested as you to hear about any.

Meals and Lakshmi :- We are a family of 3 children and want to go on our 1st Beach camping trip. So prefer it to be close. Regarding your camping on Fujairah Beach; do you just pick a spot and camp? or are there camping sites there? Any nearby proper toilet or shower facilities? What about fresh water and ice-cubes; where do you buy those/ nearby supermarkets or fuel stations? Have you been to/ or heard of other camping sites/beaches/ like in Ras El Kheimah or Khurfakan? Thanks

You can find some tips on camping spots on the www.blingmytruck.com Blog and Forum sections (lower left menu). They also have tips for newbie campers and a section on taking your dog to Oman. They also publish articles on Expat Echo: http://www.expatechodubai.com/clubs/the-beginner%E2%80%99s-guide-to-camping-in-dubai/

We've camped twice on the beach in Fujairah with our dog. Both times the police saw us and said nothing. Well, actually the first time they stopped to tell us we were crazy for being on the beach in such heat - and they were correct, we had to pack up and go home early as it was hotter than we expected! But no problem at all with the dog being there (and we didn't cross the border???) We've camped twice on the beach in Fujairah with our dog. Both times the police saw us and said nothing. But if you dont then bonus...... They would love to come along for the ride.

We're heading to Fujeirah for two nights of camping, dogs and all! Its just over 2hrs out of Dubai, but so worth it !!! Its beautiful ! Hi Stazzer, i would be really interested to hear how you get on with dogs. We are thinking of camping after summer, but are not too sure about taking the dogs. If you go to Fuj do you need to take their paperwork etc for the border? Are they allowed across and back in again without any problems? Are dogs allowed on the beaches there etc. Would love to take them but worried about being stopped and having them taken away.... Hope you have a great time and look forward to hearing all about it.

Does anyone know of any good camping spots outside of Dubai where dogs are allowed.
