School leaver for def!!;) My son has just left school and wants to be a graphic designer. He has sent CV's to people but they are not interested as he is too young and does not have the necessary qualification. He has even offered to work for free for a few months just to get some experience!!! I think you should take this girl on-give her the opportunity to prove herself worthwhile and you can give yourself a pat on the back for giving her this small step into what could turn into a future career for her!!

Identify the core competencies of the job and categorise them as either essential or desirable. If the school leaver meets the essential and can achieve the desirable through training and experience, then yes, go for it.

If she seems keen I'd say go for it abs see how it goes. Nothing like a bit of fresh enthusiasm.

It would depend entirely on the maturity of the person and the complexity of the tasks involved in the junior role. If you have the time train them school leavers can often be great long term employees.
