My LO started solids 3 weeks ago and has taken to it very well. He eats 3 meals a day of 100mls happily.

But as Im going back to work Im looking for advice on how much milk to give him as he's been breastfed till now.
He takes expressed milk really well so I want to leave bottles for mum to give him.

Im just wondering how much do I give him, and is it with the meals or later before his naps as a snack?
What should he have in total daily?

What age do they move onto three milk feeds a day? Also any advice on introducing finger foods would be great too :)

Usual day goes 1st feed milk, hour later brekkie. morn sleep. 2nd feed milk. Lunch then milk. aft sleep. 4th milk. Tea then (1 hr later) milk before bed. Finger foods she likes: bread sticks, any fruit of veg cut into chunks or sticks, those little dissolvable finger biscuits, toast (!) cheerios....

Hi I don't know if this may help, but from what I understand is that at this age, milk should still be their main source of nutrition, so before you give food, breastfeed, then wait an hour to give solid food. Solid food should compliment breast or bottle feeding. It's hard to tell how much milk they drink when you breast feed :) How often do you breastfeed him now? I would say maybe express as many bottles as you feed? but this will be hectic on you as your supply has stabled out now. My DD is 5 months and she can easily down 6 ounces when she is hungry! Try expressing as much as you can, then after a couple of days you will get a clear picture of how much milk he takes and how often? I stated introducing finger foods to DS1 when he was between 7-8 months. I mainly gave him fruits he could 'chew' on, as well as steamed veggies. I made sure they were soft so he could not choke on it.
