Has anyone signed their child up with Maths Whizz? Is it good and worth the money??

Thanks for all the feedback, hoping for a few replys because I have to decide this week.

My 7 year old is very good at maths in the Maths Wizz test he came up to the 10 year old level, but he found doing the lessons a bit of a struggle by himself. I think that it's because the lessons are created for the level that he tested at if you know what I mean.

It was a nightmare for me at first because we have so many after school activities during the week, but once we slowed down and GB (Age 5) actually sat down and started paying attention, he really enjoyed it!! Definite thumbs up from me, it has developed him lots and he is actulally finding Maths fun, like they promised me. I think I may subscribe myself, my Maths is terrible;-),

Thanks Nessie - did your DD's maths improve? Did she grow in confidence, or did you notice any changes in her approach to maths?? (Sorry for all the questions...):) yes DDs maths has improved and it made maths alot more fun for her as its not a subject that she likes.

Hi Stardust. Both my daughters (now aged 9 and 11) have done math whizz for 2 years now and we all love it. My eldest was not bad in math, but it put her math level up by 5 on her last SATs. My youngest does have problems with math, but it has made her stronger and more confident. The best part about it is that they can do it on their own, unsupervised so if I'm late coming home from work, or if it is the holidays, they can do 30 or 40 minutes on their own. edited by desertdoc on 01/10/2011 Thank you deserdoc - I was wondering if they needed supervision, it is great to hear they can work through the programme indpendently.

we have had maths whizz this last school year for my 9 year old DD. the school had an after school club for maths whizz users which she did for an hour each week. I think its a fantastic online tool and if my DD had the time to use it this year I would have signed her up again. the school are offering it to us for 500 aed (it was 350 last year) .
