Thanks Sizzles. Its a minefield of info out there. When you say you can't operate in Dubai, does that mean that you can't do business with companies based in Dubai without a licence for the City? Or just that you cannot be physically based in Dubai? thanks again You aren't allowed to trade in Dubai. It really depends on what type of company you are planning to open, if you are just consulting you'll be fine with a cz license but if you are planning to sell a product or need to rent an office or anything in the malls etc u need a dxb license

Honestly, CZ and Virtuzone are just ways to start a business without CAP EX of 100,000 dirhams or more. We went with CZ. email me elle13211 at gmail dot com for more info. You don't need capital of 100000 if u go with a Dubai agent and get a DED license, although you'd have to rent an office still.

There is positive and negative feedback on Creativezone/virtu zone I can give you my exp with Creativezone I know two people who have used them, one was really happy with them although she didn't require a residence visa and one was really unhappy with them, she did require a visa. She was mostly unhappy cause the costs went up and the goal posts changed and once she had paid her money they were pretty rude when she asked questions about her visa. I also contacted Creativezone and they were really helpful until I sent an email asking if it was legal to use their license in Dubai, I got no response. After further research I have learned that you are not allowed to operate in Dubai with a free zone license you are only permitted to work in the designated free zone, so with Creativezone you are only really allowed to work out of fuj or the free zone offices. Of course the lines are blurred and many do work with these licenses in Dubai without a problem but it's not really allowed. I have found DSO easy to deal with and offices are rather cheap too, although I haven't actually signed up with them, just from research etc. With Creativezone you have to pay around 1200 a month for a virtual office which u basically get an address and the use of a conference room, but with DSO you would probably be able to rent an office for that amount or a bit more. You could also look into agencies like Key Business Group, they provide Dubai licenses. Also if you use the search function and type in Creativezone lots of previous posts will come up :)
