Hi ladies,

I was just wondering what you do about when your maid is sick, have you taken out health insurance for her? I heard that if she has a labour card then she can show that at a hospital and receive treatment although I have just asked her and she said that only covers emergencies? I just want to do the right thing and know what to do if she has to visit the doctor is she isn't feeling well but not an emergency and how much it costs? many thanks for your help!

I think that the health number on the vaccinations card is a working health number and would work in a government hospital (?) Maybe that is what is being referred to as "only in emergencies" if you see what I mean? I do think that proper insurance (and dental etc) is the best way but I have to admit that I haven't managed to get aorund to that yet! On my list.... Not much help I know :)
