Hi,

Do any of you ladies who use Du broadband send emails using Outlook or via a mail app on your various tablets/phones etc?

If so, can you please please share the Outgoing Mail Server settings with me - I cannot find the correct SMTP server anywhere and I have read that even Du do not know the answer. I have a lovely shiny new tablet but it will be very upsetting if I can't work out how to send emails from it.

I am usually quite a techie person but can't find the answer to this on Google anywhere and it's becoming a little frustrating. I had it working perfectly in the UK, but clearly I need different settings for Dubai.

Any help would be hugely appreciated.

Thanks.

Thanks so much for the help ladies. Du actually did email be back quite quickly with a solution. However, I had already found an alternative, which (in case anyone else has the same problem) was using the free gmail SMTP server. I got the idea from the fact that a couple of ladies mentioned that their gmail accounts worked fine. I do have a gmail account but I don't use it, however, Google offer a great service where you can route your emails via their server regardless. Thanks again for the help!!

Hi. Thanks for the reply! You are usually right and these were the settings that I had in the UK. But some internet service providers block you from using your email client`s outgoing server and require you to logon to theirs instead. BT Internet would be an example of this in the UK. Therefore I had assumed this is my problem now, but if anyone has any other suggestions i`d really welcome them? Hi Cb I think you've answered your own question, if you are stuck still I am happy to provide you details of my outgoing mail server, which is part of my web hosting package. I never see your email or anything so it's totally confidential

If not then check the SMTP port is open on your firewall and router.

I'm flummoxed as to why the outgoing mail server settings would be specific to Dubai or du. It's my understand that this 'code' depends on what mail program you are using. For instance, I use gmail on Outlook on my smartphone, and have du broadband, so my outgoing mail server setting is smtp.gmail.com ... if you are using AOL in Outlook, it will be smtp.aol.com ... Not sure if this helps you? Good luck.
