This completely confused me yesterday, we were driving along and I asked my husband to check the map to see which exit we needed to take, I told him we were on Bypass Road - then spotted a sign and said oh...we're on Emirates Road, I must have got confused. But it says 611, isn't Emirates Road 311?! After a few minutes of thinking we were going mad we realised that Bypass Road must now be called Emirates Road! Madness!

I just came online to post the info below . gonnae be really confusing...think it'll be old Emirates Road and new Emirates road. We're in a compound just off bypass road and difficult enough to direct taxis here..gonnae be even worse now. there is a lot of this in auh. 1 road with 5 different names...... 30th/khaleej al arabi/airport road/arabian gulf st/mussafah road..... and 2nd is ....... i could go on.... and on..... Airport road was almost always the Rashed bin Saeed Road (th eone that starts from Chamber of Commerce and goes past the Carrefour. Calling the Khaleej arabi road as airport road must be a relatively new phenomenon
