I would but he's out. I suspect he'd refuse anyway, peeing in a cup feels pretty normal for us but probably a bit weird for him!

So what will happen if a non-pregnant woman takes this test? Give me a minute and I'll tell you.....

Hi Ladies, Just checked my scan picture for how far on I was when I was told I was having a girl, I was exactly 12 weeks and 3 days. It was during the downs syndrome screening at Fetal Medicine Centre. The sonographer had 35 years experience and was very sure she was a girl (i was skeptical so asked my OB to double check at my 14 week check up, she also confirmed a little girl). Still unsure and worried as everybody started buying pink I asked again at my morphology scan at 20 weeks...definitely a girl :-) I think I will probably get them to check again at the 28 week scan too just to be sure hahaha...dread the thought of having to take back all of the pink things and swap for blue. If any of you opt to have the downs syndrome screening at 12 - 14 weeks the sonographer should be able to tell you the *** if they have one of those swanky new age scanning machines.

12 weeks...I'm sure it was closer to 20 weeks when they know what it is. I remember with my first i was informed when i was 17weeks. I'm sure there are loads to keep us busy lol....I think I might wait until I'm 12 weeks though, save need my ingredients lol Most experienced sonographers can tell the gender at 12 weeks and 4 days+ Apparently there is a notable difference in those 4+ days... There can be some confusion between 14.5-16 weeks I have heard as little boys and little girls can look the same.

Girl! Or possibly boy. I think you need to retest if you got a little fizzing. edited by aadams on 17/09/2013
