Hi

Is anyone living here? Just wondering what the villas are like, any problems, are there any little parks for kids, many expats or mostly locals living there? TIA

They don't build for ''poorer locals'' any locals can live there and they still take out a mortgage (if they need to) for these homes... and it is illegal to sublet/rent government housing. edited by Miss_dxb on 07/11/2013

They are supposed to be for poorer locals to live in only. I would NOT rent one as I suspect it is not legal

Thanks ladies, does this mean that the locals are not permitted to rent them if they are housing scheme homes?

There used to be a sign that thet were part of the Sheikh Mohammed housing programme so I think you're info is correct Molly. There's going to be a lot more traffic coming onto Um Seqeim Rd when people move in..... According to the net, this is the case. Hopefully the new bridges on U.Seq. Street will help with the extra traffic. I go back to Al Barsha South from EC each day and stopped using U.Seq. Street a while ago and use the Al Khail Road instead. So much better. edited by amelia on 04/11/2013

I drive past everyday but never see anyone around. Someone told me a while ago the Arabtec villas would only be for locals as part of a housing scheme. Don't know whether that's true or what it means exactly. Thanx Mollydxb
