We will be relocating to Dubai in August and I have a large amount of frozen breastmilk stored. We will be come from the US (US citizens). Any suggestions on if I can bring the frozen breastmilk? If so how? Someone suggested using one of our checked luggage as larger cooler and using dry ice.....Suggestions?

As someone who struggled to pump breastmilk in large quantities, I can imagine how valuable your stash is and I would want to bring it with me too! Have you thought of using a courier company that specialises in transporting frozen goods (like Igloo in the UK)? I'm sure they would have these in the US. They would also hopefully be able to advise you on customs regulations and clearance. "Cooked and home-made foods" are on the banned items list according to Dubai Customs so it's best to check with the experts on whether breast milk falls into this category and what would be the best way to import it. If they find a big quantity on you when you enter the country, they may take it away. Good luck with your move and I hope it all works out with the milk :)

I wonder if it would be actually better to dispose of the breast milk before coming and starting afresh? I would not take the chance of something happening to it... A long way in a suitcase cooler... possibly bring the allowable amount of milk through customs.(enough for the trip)
