Just to add.. after arrival you would have medical test done and should expect residence ID after a week of that.
After residence I'D and emirates ID are processed and recieved, you can buy a new or second hand car. Car insurance can be done on the same day of buying a car or could be processed a few days before hand if you have finalised the car in advance and just need to transfer it in your name in few days.
You can get quotes from.multiple insurance providers but they would be higher for you as it would be your first car insurance in dubai plus also depend on the age and value of car purchased.
Hope that helps
When I bought my car I had to show both my resident visa and Emirates ID. You will need an Emirates ID to insure the car. The resident visa usually takes about a week and Emirates ID about 10 days but you have to register your fingerprints and eye retina scan for that
Hello everybody,
I'm a new comer on the site and will arrive in dubai in August. I'm a french woman and presently trying to understand how things work on arrival.I have been asked by my employer to produce a number of documents for the residence visa on my arrival but I would like to know how long it takes after my visa has been stamped for my residence ID to be issued. From what I have read without the residence ID i cannot buy a car. Is it true ? Or could I buy a second hand car only with a residence visa ? Thank you for your help
