Does anyone have any recent experience of these?
We will be arriving in about 10 days and have been trying to book a 2-bed suite on a weekly or monthly basis, while we look for a house. We have 2 young children.
Can anyone recommend (or advise against) any particular hotels?

Layia Oak Hotel & Suites in Tecom suppose to be good. It's just next to Al Barsha.

Go on expedia uk and type in your keywords, then look at all the reviews and check on trip advisor too for more reviews.

I live in the Gloria _ highly recommend this place to anyone - its fabulous - the service is 5 star - literally - the food is very good - it's a dry house but the gym and facilities are better than the most expensive gym in Dubai - the rooms are super comfortable and quiet - views are pretty spectacular too ! Free internet - free local phone calls - maid service (full) 3 days a week - but they come in daily to collect rubbish etc . 20 steps to the metro station and there is always a cab outside the front door .. perfect..for us anywayx

There is City Max Hotel near Mall of the Emirates...Topaz Hotel Apartments next to it...the other side of Barsha is Akash inn Hotel apartments next to subway (5 - 7 minutes walking distance to the Sharaf DG Metro Station & 5-10 minutes walking distance to Mall of the Emirates) There is also the Gloria Hotel (metro station on the doorstep) its one metro station after Sharaf DG, they do short term rentals.
