I went to a beauty salon in Motorcity two weeks ago and had a manicure using the Bio Gel procedure. I LOVE the results and want to get it done again but I did not care for that salon at all and want to find another place to go. I'm in AR and went by Tips and Toes but they don't do Bio Gel. Anyone know of a place close to AR that does the Bio Gel manicure?

SunDevil, if you do so much work at home, including activities with water (cleaning dishes) then silk is not good for you. Bio gel sounds the perfect option in your case as it holds with water unlike the Silk nails :) and treat yourself with a back massage while doing your nails, you will love it :)

Thanks ladies. I've never had my nails looked after and with two young boys and housework to keep up after I have the ugliest nails and decided to splurge and get the Bio Gel nails and I love the look. My hands actually look nice instead of looking like I've been doing construction work for 20 years. When I get regular manicures, the polish is chipped off within a couple days but the Bio Gel has stayed so pretty for almost two weeks now, not one chip. I guess I'll just have to get them every other time or so to give my nails a break. I'm going to try Nail Spa, the back massage during the manicure sounds divine!

I used to go to Nail Spa, Ibn Battuta. I like the SILK extension the most as nails look really nice and natural but they make nails very very weak. ACRYLIC was the worse, nails even weak more than silk. BIO Gel is also nice but I think from the weakness side, it is little bit better than silk and acrylic. If you will go for Bio Gel, as other lady said you have to remove them after 2 weeks, wait for one month and then do them again for 2 weeks. I was going for extension for 4 years now and only 2 months ago I decided to stop all type of extensions. In my opinion, either go for Bio Gel or Silk but in both cases, you have to remove them after sometime so your natural nail can breath. If you will go to Ibn Battuta nail spa branch, ask for Marilou (no.1), Joyce (no.2) or Babes (no.3) for any type of nail extension. Apart from that, if you want back massage during the nail session, ask for Milan she is my favorite :)

Nail spa at Ibn Battuta does them too. I agree with egg. I would suggest you have it done once, remove and go 2 weeks without before doing it again. Eventually when you keep on doing them without a break you will not find them as great anymore since they will start breaking. edited by Eva B. on 18/04/2011

So what's a girl to do then? Just get full acrylics done?

N Style in MOE do it, However, i was a huge advocate of Gelish and Bio Gel Nail paints etc, but after having about 5/6 manicures using Gelish my nails are absolutely goosed they are a mess and have all broken and split went very thin and it left a horrid roughness to my nails, i am gutted took me almost 2 years being here to get my nails in great shape and i ruined it by having Gelish, have to start all over again growing them. :( just my opinion, like i said i originally thought wow fantastic no chipping woo hoo, :(
