Does technology really make that much of a difference in my kids' schooling? Am I the only one who's more concerned about the content and skill of the teacher than the flash boards they have..?

Saw this article today and I think technology is great and my kids are very savvy on computers but I worry about how much budget is spent on it... What do you think? What's happening in your schools?

A lot of schools spend more on sport than technology here. Interactive whiteboards can bring content to life and also help to cater for different learning styles - not everyone can learn simply by listening or reading. Students like to get involved, be hands on. At home they are surrounded by all sorts of gadgetry and media. Why don't you ask your chidren how they learn best? Having said that, a lesson is only as good as the personality and drive behind it... teachers must use a variety of techniques to get the message across edited by Luddite on 18/03/2011
