Does anybody know where I can get a check up? Haven't had one before and one breast has become sore and quite tender. Just want to make sure all is ok and don't know who or where to go. Scared, so wanted to find something online, but can't. My breast friend just been given all clear for breast cancer, but now I'm worried. Can anybody help?

Hello ladies @pinks and @spongemonkey thank you - Dr Alex is wonderful! All is ok with me, thank God, but it really gives you a scare and makes you wonder. I was never that much into finding out information even though best friend had very bad problems. A mum at the school let me know of a website she found, I went on a had a look at the videos - I couldn't watch them all, but they are very informative. It is www.breastcancerarabia.com I am going to start having regular checks as this is what was advised. I am grateful to you ladies for helping me out when I really needed it.

Hi ladies. Thank you for the info. A bit of a long wait at the American so I will call well woman clinic and see if I can get a quicker one. I did here from someone at school that there is a breast surgeon at the City Hospital. Has anybody seen them? Dr Alexandra Economacos (known as 'Dr Alex') is the breast specialist and radiologist @ City, and she does everything from the scans to the biopsies - I've seen her twice and am going back for more! She's SA, and has even put up her own paintings in the consulting rooms to make you feel at home. She's wonderful.

http://www.wellwomanclinic.ae/philosophy.html Highly recommended. I second them! Should anything nasty come to light, they've got the best breast surgeon in the region there, plus they also use Dr Alex (she's the most wonderful breast radiologist at City Hospital) and all make you feel SO comfortable and stress free.

American Hospital has a breast clinic on SUndays and Wednesdays, I believe. I was there recently and saw the doctor, followed by a mammogram and ultrasound right after the appointment. I can be a bit tricky to get in for an appointment right away, so maybe you should start with a visit to your gynaecologist.

Go and see your regular doctor first, then if need be they usually refer you to have an ultrasound and a mammogram done. Allied Diagnostics is where all the screening usually takes place.
