Just for information - gobsmacked to see the baggage trollies at Gatwick are now coin operated !!! Of course we've all got pockets full of pound coins or euros when we arrive in the UK, haven't we ? lolol...

Many airports have coin operated trolleys these days and I guess on the positive side it makes it easier to get one as some people will not bother rather than having to get a coin out plus people return them to get their money back rather than leaving them abandoned all over the place. On the other hand, they are still coinless at Aberdeen Airport. :) i'm not disputing the merits of coin trollies - supermarkets have had them for years..i just wonder how many ppl flying in from Dubai, for example, will have a pound coin or euro handy ??? (unless they already know, of course lol)... Yes, I know what you mean. Particularly foreigners, who even if they have come with currency are unlikely to have coins. I had so many UK coins in my purse going home a few weeks ago that the security man at the boarding gate here in Dubai actually asked me if I had lots of coins in my purse, I had to show him I had. :)

Hasn't this been the case for some time? In any case it has at Manchester - frustrating I know.
