FWIW, we only ever buy economy with EK, and we've always been able to change the date months later without too much trouble. In fact when we bought flights starting in DXB, it was actually [i'>free[/i'> to change the date. Since we usually buy our flights starting in the UK (because UK>DXB>UK is always cheaper than DXB>UK>DXB), it costs £75 per change.

Tickets for each class are sold in bands, lower bands (cheapest) are usually non-changeable, non-refunable, whereas higher bands have flexibility. ******
