Do you think that Jumeirah compounds would compare with Arabian Ranches for community etc as we have 3 children Thanks Hmm... I think you would need one of the larger compounds, and one designed around a central communal area (like Al Manara Villas or API Villas near the zoo)... Maybe Splendour Villas... Sheikh Ahmed Villas is a large compound but i didn't think it had such a community feel. There must be others as well. But I don't think any of them would have that "total-suburbia" vibe that AR has. (But of course you have proximity to other parts of Dubai, to the beach, to the malls and cafes and restaurants along Beach Road...)

Hi, We have been in Jumeirah 1 since May and love the area! We are in a house that feels independent (own gate and entrance onto street) with our own small garden, but share a large garden and pool with 3 other villas. Good balance between privacy and convenience. we only looked at 4 bedrooms but price range was around 200-260k so a 3-bed should be well below. Good luck!

Hi ladies Can I ask how much a 3 bed villa would be in Jumeriah? I understand you cant buy there but only rent. Also where abouts are the compounds in Jumeirah? Are they apartments or Villas? Ta x

Another very happy Jumeira resident here! With regard to your question about living on a compound or not, I think it depends on whether you have children or not. We don't and we like living in an independent villa but you have to be pretty self sufficient - we don't know our neighbours as all the houses are surrounded by high walls so there are no opportunities even to exchange pleasantries. If you have children, I think compounds work really well as there are plenty of other families around and from what I've seen, the facilities on some compounds are really good too. Personally, the compounds I've seen wouldn't really suit us as they are very open and seem to lack privacy.

oh lucky you! i'm in downtown and love it but this area (or satwa) would be my next choice. very close to everything (including downtown) lovely shops, boutiques, eateries, and a lovely feel to the area - i love the fact you can turn off the main road and find a whole group of lovely villas that you've never seen before, all a bit different.

ME too.... love it. Wouldn't live anywhere else. Lived in the springs for 6 months and hated it - glorified council estate IMO....
