Reverse cycle-airconditioning - sorry boring question

Hi Ladies,
We are moving from an apartment to a villa for the first time since living in Dubai. We currently have central AC (we live in JBR so it is all through Empower) but our new villa has reverse cycle a/c units in each room.

I was just wondering what the best way (most cost effective way) to keep the villa cool. Do people who have the same system keep all a/c units running 24/7, or do you just turn them on when you go into a particular room.
Sorry, not sure if this post makes any sense..... we are just worried about getting huge DEWA bills moving into a villa.

Just two of us in a 3 bedroom villa in AR. We have 4 separate A/C controlled areas: master bed and bath and upstairs hallway and stairwell, two spare bedrooms and bathroom, lounge/dining room and hall and kitchen/family room and maids room (which we use as a study). At this time of year the two spare bedrooms and bathroom and the lounge/dining room and hall are kept at 28C since we rarely use either. We were advised to do this in unused rooms by the facilities manager at a hotel whom we knew and we've never had problems with mould or damp with the clothes in the wardrobes. Obviously if guests come to stay the A/C in the bedrooms is turned down to whatever temperature they wish. The rooms we do use? Master bedroom and bathroom - 27C during the day and 26C at night. Kitchen and family room etc - 26c all the time unless I'm cooking or ironing when it goes down to 25C if I'm having those oh so lovely hot flushes! And, of course, it goes without saying that water heaters in the bathrooms are all turned off. Turn the taps to cold for hot water and to hot for somewhat less hot water!

Out of the 4 bedrooms we have upstairs, our bedroom always has AC running at 24. DD's room and another room run on the same unit and thats always running at 24 or 25 and the 4th room we leave the AC off as it stays coolish from the airflow from DD's room. Downstairs we leave all AC's on 25. Maids room AC is always off.

Hi, I don't have reverse cycle air-con, just individual refrigerated units. I tend to cool only the rooms that I need, when I need them, at 23 degrees. When I go out I leave one upstairs room on (for the dog). Just check which units cool areas like hallways as well as a room, as I think that these could use a lot of power. Our nursery was also cooling the hallway upstairs so we moved DS into our room and only run 2 air-cons overnight. I am interested in any other suggestions.
