Edited to say - Title should read PHONE BANKING - can you tell I was losing the plot...

I forgot how useless and time wasting phone banking is in this country. I chose this evening to do phone banking instead of a branch visit, thinking it would save me time tomorrow etc etc. 3 phone calls later, and a wasted hour I am still no further advanced than I was at the beginning. System errors apparently, and I have had THE most ridiculous security questions asked, as I had to reset my phone banking PIN to even begin to ask the question I wanted .... and still I have no new PIN. How the frig do I remember exactly what date I opened my bank account, though approximately seemed to do after I laughed for a few minutes over the phone as my brain doesnt function past 3 years never mind 8. After the 3rd call and holding for 20mins I hung up and decided to waste more of my little time by going to the branch, which by the way is only open after I start work and closes before I finish - great move hache essss beeeee seeee! Im going for a walk otherwise I might eat the contents of my local garage tuck shop!

Bubble_trouble, you made me laugh! :) Thank you! I ended up heading to Mirdif City Centre; I worked late in the office, decided to get to the branch during Iftar whilst it would be quiet. Clever I thought ... oh no, they close for Iftar despite the notice, phone banking and the internet stating 10am to 10pm during Ramadan - no mention of the casual approx 1 to 1.5hr Iftar break. I dont begrude the break, just put up a sign, advise phone banking and update the friggin internet sites. Sigh ... anyway, I completed the form, got it stamped and signed, handed over my ID as I do on every trip to the bank (how many copies of my DL do they need - they dont do Emirates ID ...). Lets see if I get a result. The positive of this story is I shopped for a friends new baby who was born last Monday. Yay, baby pressies sorted : )

Babylons this must be with the 4 letter international bank. I went through the same as we have been with them for the past 20 years before they were the 4 letters bank I could tell them the month we joined them but they wanted the exact date. They also have my husband's place of work as wrong. He has never worked there. For me to find out those answers, I had to pay a visit to the branch and ask where do my DH works and I have never bothered make the change. In order to activate our new status account we had to go through the phone banking center and I got so frustrated that I decided to go to the branch and ask the customer services to do it form me. Just terrible services.

Well, I have a major problem with online banking with my bank. E-m-i-r......... I've had the account since I started working in 2008. They gave me the info to do on line banking. Their on line system never recognized my account number and always said that it was incorrect. I went to a branch about 5 different times to tell them this. I would show them my account number and they would try it on their computer. It would work. It NEVER worked for me, and to this day it still doesn't. I've given up on on line banking with them.
