So, it's that time of year again trying to organize kids' activities while still managing to have a life of your own! Considering there are a few ice rinks around, and some synthetic ice too, why do there seem so few recommended skating teachers? Anyone got any recommendations? I know of Julia, but anyone else?

My dd has skated down at Ak Nasr, it is quite an old rink, but perfectly good enough. Coaches all look like they mean business and the kids I have seen skate there look very talented.

Plano, just wondered if you tried Al Nasr Lesiureland as Princess_I has suggested. Keen to know what you have thought of it if you did. :)

Have you tried the ice rink at al nasr - think its really cheap and i understand that they have good teachers. Google al nasr leisureland.

We started at 6. DD loves it. @MIRDIFMUMMY - you're in a great location for Julia. She teaches on the synthetic rink at Arabian Centre, Mirdif. edited by Plano on 08/09/2011

I started mine just before she turned 3. I think around 4 is probably a good age to start as they don't get as distracted as they do when they are 3. My LO has a very limited concentration span so drove me a bit nuts at 3 but she really enjoyed it. Yet to find a good ice rink with affordable prices here to start her lessons back up. Just arrived in Dubai a couple of months ago so it's all a bit new to me. :) Hope that helps.

I know of somebody but I'll need to ask her permission to give her details. Wait a while and I'll see for you.
