I have friends over next week and wondered if there are any ladies nights around the Madinat/Marina area on a Wednesday night? Or anywhere that does happy hour? We are ladies in our late 30's/early 40's!!

Still on at the Bonnington but from 8.00 p.m. But not as good as it used to be, supposed to get 3 free glasses of bubbly or 3 free cocktails, couldn't taste any alcohol in the cocktails and only get about a third of a glass of bubbly, so really only getting 1 glass, despite numerous attempts to try to get the waiter to top them up to a more reasonable level.;)

Left Bank in Souk Madinat Jumeirah used to do a ladies night "5 cocktails for 5 dirhams" offer on a Wednesday (they were vodka cocktails) but check with them that that promotion is still going. The place gets very, very busy but its quite a nice atmosphere (my friends and I feel comfortable there and we are in the same age group as you!) We also enjoy the Happy Hour in The Observatory at the Harbour Marriot from 6pm - 8pm. The views over the Palm are spectacular and the bar snacks are brilliant. Their "happy" hour isn't completely happy - ie. its not half price, but there is a decent range included in the offer.

Healey's in the bonnington used to be on a weds night. Not sure if it still is as they've relaunched it. Nice temperature to be out on the terrace there now.
