For the last week, I have been receiving telephone calls, where the caller lets it ring out once or twice then hangs up. This happens all through the day and night and it's driving me nuts. I googled the area code and it is for India. Yesterday I had 26 of these calls. I have called Etisalat and they have said there is nothing they can do. Any suggestions as this morning they are calling every 2 to 3 minutes!

If there is no one at the other end of the line it could be an automated calling system from one of the banks we suffered this in the Uk and it was calling the house phone continually droves nuts . Thought we were being stalked ! Horrible situation though !

You can actually block the number. Etisalat can do this for you I'm sure. Send a message saying you've passed the number onto the police.

Get a whistle - call back and when they answer give them a blast.

Hi carriesue I dont think it's a wrong number as I have texted to say please do not call and again today I have had about another 20 calls. I just wish it would stop now as it's getting extremely frustrating!

Most likely this is someone calling a wrong number and wondering why their friend isn't calling them back. I've had a few call like this and I kept the phone in my hand and as soon as the screen lit up I answered the call. The person at the other end didn't speak English but I could tell they were upset that I used up their phone credit and the calls stopped. Hope this helps.
