Ok being a mince pie novice, if I make some, how long do they keep for? would you keep them in the fridge and cam you buy ready made pastry? TIA

they last 2 minutes in our house - DH and older DD mop them up like there's no tomorrow - I (nearly) always make shortcrust pastry but you can buy readymade. I also tart up my bought mincemeat with alcohol and let it brew for a week before I make the pies. Lol :)

Buy ready made frozen pastry - waitrose sell it .. you can use shortcrust of puff - puff is good for the tops _ they also sell mincemeat in jars :) Make up batches and cook them off - then freeze them - just reheat when needed YUUUMMM !!
