Thanks very much for your feedback. I am looking to open quite a smart salon, of a medium to high calibre. It will not be situated in a mall but in a very large residential area, consisting of mainly expats in apartments and villas. I am looking to hire a (European/ South African) beautician with good experience and qualifications. Then junior beauticians (2 yrs exp). A (European/South African) hair dresser with good experience and qualifications and then junior hairdressers (2 yrs exp). Then Philipino nail technicians. If you have any further input that may help I appreciate it.

It really depends on where you'll be hiring staff from and what calibre the salon is meant to be. For example a salon in Karama probably only pays their staff max 2500 per month whereas a salon in a mall will pay their staff 10'000+ benefits and commission. That also varies for nationalities, if you are to hire a philipino beautician, you would be paying them around 2500-3500 per month, whereas a western beautician would be looking at minimum 7000 per month, plus benefits. Also varies on qualifications and experience.
