Hi - we have an 8 month old male labradoodle puppy. He has the basic training of walking on a leash and knows the commands "sit", down" "off". He is also house trained. We give him at least 30 mins of walks twice a day which is age appropriate for him. However, he is a really smart dog and I think he needs some more mental stimulation and learning of new tricks rather than just more exercise. We've used Homely Petz before for the basic training so maybe someone who works by themself and can come to our house may be the right answer.

TIA

Call Pat Hart at The Dog Scholar - I don't have her number any more but she has a website and is wonderful with training dogs and she does one on one sessions as well as group ones.

We're happy to have someone "train us" to train the puppy but we still need to find that elusive trainer. We're reluctant to go with a pet services company because they have standardized classes and "Max" already has the basic tricks down pat. Any recommendations would be welcome. There must be someone in Dubai who is a dog whisperer and would like to work with a cute, but very large, labraroodle puppy (and his owners).

Can't help with a recommendation but have a suggestion - try to get someone who will "train you" to train your puppy - you have to practice twice a day for about 10 minutes at a go, it doesn't seem much but if your puppy is as bright as you say, you'll have him doing the dishes soon ;)
