Hi we have decided to go with the option of hiring a full time live in maid through an agency called Mountain Gate. Is it a normal request to ask them for a reference from the maids previous employer (she has had 4 short term over a year period)? We have asked them for this but they seem to be very evasive about it and I just wondered if this was an unusual request? Thanks

We have asked them for this but they seem to be very evasive about it and I just wondered if this was an unusual request? Thanks We are moving in January and have a great maid who's been with us for just over 2 years, before that with another EW lady for 4 (that's how she came to me!). I think they make the references up! When we got our maid through an agency we were given a bunch of cvs to look at and they all had very similar work experience! We also got to see videos of several maids and that was what we used to make a decision.
