Hi ladies,

I'm in my 5th month with baby #2. So far have been going to Shj for prenatal checks. But now that I've moved to new Dubai, I'm looking at options here. Don't have insurance, so am looking at pocket-friendly hospitals.

Can anyone give any recommendations/advice on doctors & hospitals for anntenatal checks as well as delivery?

I'm looking into Iranian hospital. Any good (& kind) doctors there? What is the rate and procedure like for antenatal checks & delivery?

Do I need to get any hospital/health card for registering here?

My fast pregnancy and delivery was free from complications and normal so I'm hoping and praying that this one follows the same path.
Would appreciate any advice.
Thanks

Iranian Hospital is certainly fine. A friend of mine delivered there and she was absolutely pleased. Re: suggestion to get insurance.... I think that would be a tad too late and she'll not find anybody who'll take her and includes the pregnancy...there is generally a lead time before you may become pregnant if it is to be included.... you are already into your 5th month...and therefore they will not take you ! if they do, then be sure that the term "pocket friendly" most certainly will become another meaning for you....:-)

A friend of mine deilvered at Iranian - three times - and said the care was absolutely fine. She had 3 planned c-sections. I took my dd there recently when she had an accident as she was too upset to go in the car and we live v closeby. We were seen immediately in ER and they were v professional. I don't know how much it costs to give birth there but I'm sure it's v reasonable compared to other hospitals. BUT it's worth asking about their nicu should anything go wrong. Do they have one? If not, where would they transfer you to? I delivered at Latifa 3 times due to their high grade nicu. It's more expensive than Iranian but remember that this gives you access to top facilities in case of complications. My ten pence worth. Good luck x

My daughter give birth in the Iranian hospital 8 years ago and it was absolutely fine . She had a planned C section, she got a private room and I stayed with her as the room had twin beds. I could not fault the care she and the baby got, plus their kebabs were to die for!!!

friend of mines sister had her baby at the Iranian Hopsital and she said that it was aboslutly fine and the doctors were fantastic. I didnt ask her how much it cost im afraid. I would seriously think about getting insurance. God forbid, if there were any complication during the birth and after I dread to think what the financial implications would be. Im not having a go at you. Just sayin .... Congrats on your pregancy by the way :) Thank you mushypeas. I'll have to go there myself to get a feel of the place and see if the doctors feel fine. Thanx
